Vulcan H3 #120
July 15, 2008 (see the pics)

An old favorite start location of Vulcan H3 runs. I drove into the parking lot seeing McBeaver’s jeep and decided to park next to him. Banana Grabber was also there at the time. Later on to follow was NFN Dennis, Hold The Mayo, Sleazy Rider, Children of the Porn, Wax On/Rubber Off, Missionary Impossible, Boop Job and the hares Dueling Banjos and Betty Boobs. Dueling Banjos informed me that we were all parked in the wrong part of the complex. Easy fix… we all moved. So where was SHTF? Wine tasting! All the men were disappointed about his last invite since it stated “lady only” to accompany him.

Circle was called. Dueling started to explain the usual markings and mentioned where the down-down location would be. Pretty nice area around the picnic tables in the Servis 1st Bank parking lot, and the hares were off. Very interesting watching Betty Boobs put down On-On markings on the ground. She would stop, bend over and carefully lay a marking. Did Betty hare like that the whole time?

Rolling into the parking lot after hares were off were Count Doncula and NFN Jim. Who at the time was wearing a white t-shirt…. But not for long! He hopped into a phone booth and put on the mesh shirt.

3 hashers decided that they were not trail running material this time around. McBeaver O’ Blowme has a sickness and so does Boop Job. And Beanie decided to get 2 months of exercise in one day and is now paying for it. It’s hard to even type right now let alone raise a beer to my lips.

Sorry I couldn’t run, so not too much on the details.

While 2 non-runners made it to the down-down location. Betty Boobs put out the food. She was disappointed about what the heat and humidity did to her cake. It was a great cake though. I felt like taking a picture, but that was a bad idea that I still followed through. OK I said too much.

Down-downs:

Hares: Dueling Banjos and Betty Boobs

FRB: Also late to the hash.. Count Doncula

FBI: Children Of the Porn

DFL: Guess who? Sleazy Rider and Banana Grabber

Anniversaries: Hold The Mayo, Count Doncula, and Beanie

Special as in Donnie special down-down: 69th for Steamy Carrot

Berfday in July: Boop Job… You have 2 more chances for down-downs in July

Safety 3rd: McBeaver for hashing while he’s sick. Dueling for bringing the trail across Mtn. Brook Pkwy 3 times without using crosswalks. I know I missed more. Oh yes, WaxOn for jumping over something, well so did NFN Dennis.

Hash-it: Nominations included Sleazy Rider for her 80’s songs which threw a few people off because they wanted to share their knowledge and show off that they know the chorus of “Pour Some Sugar on Me”, NFN Jim was nominated for his breathable and well ventilated shirt. But the winner was WaxOn/Rubber Off for quitting his job.

Nerd Names and staying out of trouble: Missionary Impossible and many others.

Hares next week: Beanie and NFN Dennis from the never-ever touched parking lot of Colonial Bank next to the Mountain Brook Y. Round 4 from that location don’t mess it up!! I advise you to wear long socks or even pants, and maybe even carry a water bottle on trail. It won’t be the shortest nor easiest of trails. Bug spray, ivy block, and all that other fun stuff.

BTC Announcement: Atlanta Braves trip this weekend. Here is the link for anyone interested in going to the Braves game this Sunday.http://birminghamtrackclub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=869

McBeaver is Tubing: E-mail him for more info

That appears to be all….My apologies to those who were looking forward to a potential Full Moon Hash this Friday. Lack of interest but it sounded fun….. Saturday? Working this weekend so I can’t put down the trail. Well if you don’t hear anything after this, it will be a no go.

Key Chains will be in next week: 6 exciting colors http://www.lazerdesigns.com/images/color/popup.html?BOft.jpg first come first serve. Accountability ability sucks.

Thank you hares, mismanagement, and thank you everyone else for keeping us going and making the hash a great Tuesday night tradition.

On-On

Beanie
