Vulcan H3 #159 — April 14, 2009 — hashflash
Welcome to a very special telling of the 159th running of the Vulcan Hash House Harriers. Tonight's hares were Boop Job and yours truly, Hold the Mayo. As co-hare, I figured it would be bad form to show up late, so I managed to arrive at the Bottletree early. Boop Job and I discussed the fact that neither of us had planned this one out much, so there was no point in trying to plan now. So important trail laying considerations postponed, we went in for a beer. As an aside, it should be pointed out that Boop Job hared, and IT DID NOT RAIN.
The group gathered outside, and after some mild bouts of stupidity, the hares were ready to go. A quick chalk talk, and off we went. Hopefully our virgin was duly introduced while we were gone. 7 minutes later the pack was off. In hindsight, we probably could have used 10, but we did manage to avoid actually getting snared.
The trail left Bottletree, looped around and over to Avondale Park, where it faked up a hill, across the amphitheater, and by the lake. Then out of the park and back fairly straight back home. The hares had only just arrived back in the lot (after a brief flour war, which was declared a draw) when up charges our FRB (whew, that was close). This brings us to circle:
Our RA did her best to lead, though she had to contend with a speaker and a rather spread out circle.

I brought forth the hash-it, complete with tall-boy bud light can for taking the beer stop last week before everyone had passed it. Nominations were short and simple, Steamy Carrot for a whiney performance during circle. As the only nomination, he stood up and completed his down-down, whining the whole time.Virgin
Our virgin Ellen was introduced to the art of the down -down and shall henceforth be known as NFN Ellen.
Announcements: On a kind of serious note, we need some new blood to take on some roles in mis-management. Or old blood to take on new roles, either way. If you can't make the mis- management meeting Thursday, then be sure to let Banana Grabber or someone know what you are willing to take on. We are all here to have fun, but there is a tiny bit of organization that has to happen, and it's not fair to lump it all on just a few people. Sharing roles is encouraged, as we all know, there is always going to be a couple of hashes that each of us miss. Please volunteer to help out. Thanks. (p.s.: Meeting went well. New mismanagement positions are pretty much laid out. Steamy Carrot will send out an email recapping our meeting. -B.G.)
