Vulcan H3 #155 — March 17, 2009 (St. Patty's Day) — hashflash
Hare: Steamy Carrot
Howdy hashers! Top of the mornin' ( um, evenin') to ya!!! We had a great turn out at Tuesday nights St. Patty's Day pub hash. 17 hashers to be exact. We appreciate all of the old, new, and tipsy faces that showed up to the Garage Cafe.
We started the evening with 30 minutes of pre-lubing at which time we met three guys doing their own pub run. They were hitting up 4-5 locations with a quick Guinness at every stop. Hopefully, they'll join the hashing world soon. Steamy Carrot was the hare for the evening and went over chalk talk outside (which was quickly removed by the owners after we left the premises). We proceeded with hasher introductions since we had two virgins to the group, NFN Justice and NFN Shannon (NFN standing for no f'ing name). I still love it when virgins chuckle at hearing our hash names.
Steamy Carrot laid a pretty straight forward trail (as in, straight to the next beer) with a few twists and turns to still get the hashing experience. The first stop was The Nick where we watched Lunadyk throw down some mad skills on the game Ms. Pac-man and met a gentleman that was especially excited about our hashing camaraderie. The second stop was Rojos where all of Southside was eating Latin food in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. Then the crew followed trail back to the Garage for down-downs.
Down-downs were filled with cake eating, standing on benches, and the "Smokey the Bear" song sung by NFN Justice (hmm, I wonder if there is a hash song named "Smokey the Beer"). A great time was had by all. Pictures are here.
