Vulcan H3 #133 — October 14, 2008 — hashflash

Howdy Hashers.

We haven't had hash trash in a couple of weeks so I volunteered to throw down something. My notes from Tuesday night are a little jumbled so forgive me if I leave something out and for any grammatical errors. I was an art major in college, not an English major! :)

I (Banana Grabber) made my arrival to the start location Chateau New Orleans Apartments-Tennis Courts around 5:50pm. After being greeted by the hares Missionary Impossible and NFN Joe our fellow Vulcan hashers started trickling in to the start locale. None of us knew the where abouts of our Grand Master(s) so I told the hares they could go ahead and take off at 6:20 since most of the crew was ready. Then at 6:30 I gave an impromptu Vulcan Hash welcome and the pack was off. In his usual fashion (about 5 minutes late and sporting his mesh shirt) G'Love My Organ joined the pack with a special guest/virgin, his brother Mark!

Since it's almost winter/dark time the hounds were sure to wear light clothing or equip themselves with reflector vests and flashlights. And boy did we need it! For the most part the trail was very easy to follow. Until we got to major traffic areas....... Most of the highways we reached weren't marked with intersection marks so the hounds got a little confused. Either the trails continued on or they took an abrupt jump across a busy street. It was kind of like being in the Frogger game. After two major street crossings the pack made it's way to the Beer Check which was on a path between a neighborhood street and church. After a couple of beverages and finding out that Courteney Cox had her daughter Coco baptized at the church we were beside, the pack was off again.

Someone (I assume it was Count Donkula) pulled a stunt from a few hashes ago and jumped out of a wooded area to frighten some fellow hashers. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled when on trail during this Halloween season (insert creepy Friday the 13th sounds here.......chuh chuh chuh, kill kill kill). After crossing back over an intersection from the beginning of the trail, we made our way up a steep hill through a couple of shopping districts which led us back to the apartment tennis courts. NFN Joe and Missionary Impossible were waiting for us with a multitude of snacks and the down-downs ensued. Thanks go to Boop Job for stepping in with her Religious Advisor skills and running circle. And thanks to the Hares for an awesome trail.
