Howdy Hashers,
We had a great hash Tuesday night. We began our adventure from the Crestwood Coffee Shop, where there was already a pretty good crowd when I showed up. We stood around talking for awhile until the hare's, Hold the Mayo and NFN Jim (that would change by the end of the night), conducted a very informal chalk talk, where they motivated us with the promise of hard booze in a mason jar at the beer stop. So we had that going for us, which was nice. We waited the requested 10 minutes and the pack was off.
We ran what seemed to be forever through baseball fields, neighborhoods, railroad tracks (4 times), and backyards (for the ones who made the mistake of following me on the "short cut".) until we finally made it to the beer stop. We had some of the best beer I have had at a beer stop and for the brave few who tried it some very strong liquor. After the beer stop we finished up the trail and headed to Hold the Mayo's house for the down-downs.
There was a great spread of chips and dips and I was told later there was some beef jerky, but I missed out on all that action. After some eating and socializing we rounded up the circle and the down-downs went a little something like this:

NFN Jim for sticking to the 80's theme he does so well and wearing A glove (just one) while haring, and yes he was wearing his mesh "Orlando" jersey as well. Someone came up with the great idea to use moonshine for the Hash-it down-down, that went over awesome.Auto-hashing

Cotton eye'd ho for not being able to hurdle as well as others, and I don't remember why but Hold the Mayo, Banana Grabber, McBeaver, and Steamy Carrot was end there as well. We decided to change it up a bit and did a Waterfalls style down down, for all the drinking game vets, you know what I'm talking about.
After the down-downs we named NFN Jim. A lot of great stuff was being suggested and a few turret-like suggestions from NFN Dennis, until we landed on G'Love my Organ. It can be pronounced either gangsta or in a french like accent.
We wrapped up the circle and had a few games of Flip Cup, I'm still undefeated, and called it a night.
Your hare next week will be Creek Cheeks and will start at the Open Door with down-downs at Deep do-do's, so don't forget to bring your bathing suits. The website will be updated with directions soon, so check it out. Also Creek Cheeks will be hosting an end of August/start of football season Friday, AUG 29th, from his house. More details to come.
Also, we are going to be putting together a full moon hash in the very near future, again more details to come soon so keep checking the website and emails.
